Vacation Rental

Oct 7, 2010: My family (2 small children, 5 adults) rented this beautiful home for the weekend of my cousin's wine country wedding. We could not have asked for a more wonderful weekend! Casa Carolina was perfectly situated for our wine country explorations, wedding and events in Sebastopol, Occidental, Santa Rosa, etc. The house was cozy and comfortable, stocked with all the kitchen gadgets of home, so we were able to have breakfast and lunches in almost every day (great money and hassle saver with small kids). They welcomed our dog, which also saved us money and hassle, but more importantly got our poor city doggie (and kids) out to "the country". My girls heard crickets for the first time! The hot tub and patio situated under an arching tree were our favorite lounging spots! Trip Advisor - Read more

Fabulous Girls Getaway Weekend = VRBO

I just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed staying at your property. We were very comfortable and had a great deal of room. The property was very clean and just perfect for us. We all noted that if we go with our families or when we do our couples' trips we will definitely book your home. Your suggestions were perfect. The private chefs were exquisite! We all really enjoyed Jed and David. Not only was their cooking and class wonderful, but they were so outgoing and enjoyable. We loved their personalities! We had plenty of room to prepare and eat our meals. We also enjoyed lunch at Lynmar and too much champagne at Iron Horse. Perfect suggestions. And, we enjoyed dinner with Trevor at Peter Lowell's. The Cedar Enzyme Bath at Osmosis was over the top! Thank you so very much for helping make our annual girls weekend our best one ever!

Magical - East Coast Cynic Falls in Love = VRBO

I am from Boston and us East Coasters can be cynics; I once read that a cynic is a passionate person who is afraid to be disappointed (Ben Zander from The Art of Possibility). Well, that’s me, and Casa Carolina was magical. It looks even better than it does in the photos. The innkeeper raised her family here, and the energy of home and hearth is felt. There is a care to the beautiful gardens that surround the home and a coziness in the rooms that stands out against other rentals. The home has (3) full bathrooms so no crowding with the bathrooms. The house is spacious so you can get space from one another. It is spotless – very clean, and the appliances are modern and in excellent working order. The bookshelf of visitor materials was fully stocked, with lots of copies of all sorts of different activities. This house is great for couples, a bunch of women or families. There are golf courses, spas, galleries, shops and of course, wine. And, I plan to come back someday. Yes, cynics have breakthroughs!

Great Sebastopol Getaway = VRBO
Guest: very good looking(San Francisco, CA.)
Date of Stay: 05/08/10 Review Submitted: 05/16/10

Driving there, the location was a little like a neighborhood to me but, as we turned the corner to Casa Carolina it was almost as if we were transported to this lush homey property with no visibility of other properties; just everything from eucalyptus to mounds of mint, as far as the eye can see. All my needs were met from the modern kitchen to a flat screen TV and MP3 player. not to mention Daisy the donkey or the sheep and fresh eggs for breakfast. YUM! I could have stayed on the property all weekend with the hottub on the large deck with grill or driven the 10 min. to town to enjoy all that Sebastopol offers; from wine tasting at some of the wine country's finest wineries or just a visit to the open market with local goods and music that make me want to come back to this clean, pet friendly, inviting home very soon.

Wow! What a Retreat! = VRBO

Casa Carolina is a unique getaway. This is a very comfortable home, with all the amenities and then some. It's setting is spectacular, completely secluded on a stunning piece of property yet it's only minutes away from the heart of Sebastopol. The rooms are beautifully appointed, 4 cozily decorated large bedrooms and 3 baths. One of the bathrooms is in the master bedroom. The other one is more central and features a long clawfoot tub. Kitchen and dining area is great for entertaining. Cooking dinner in the fully stocked kitchen and barbecuing on the patio was perfect. A wonderful retreat - we had a blast!

07.14.09: innkeepers warm and accomodating, and the gardens, and resident pets add to the charm. We loved drinking wine in the hot tub surrounded by flowers while watching the lambs graze. Breakfasts were delicious and the suggestions we got for places to go were perfect. We started calling it "home" after one day. The "casa" is within 10 minutes of many amazing wineries and restaurants. Russian River valley is the heart of pinot noir and chardonnay and it's also just gorgeous!

While you can feel "away from it all" at Casa Carolina, it's close to everything. We drove to the coast, the Armstrong Redwoods, to Healdsburg, to the Sonoma Valley, Carneros and Dry Creek Valley. Nothing was very far, though the drives through back roads made our journey as interesting and fun as our destinations. Downtown Sebastolpol is about 5 minutes away and we enjoyed the restaurants and unique shops.

If you want to experience the best of Sonoma County visit the Russian River Valley and stay at Casa Carolina!

06.28.09: My wife and I had a wonderful time at Casa Carolina. The attentiveness of the staff was the best I've had at any BnB I've stayed at! The location is perfect with close access to all of the wineries or the ocean and the inn keepers are very helpful with suggestions of places to go. They also have the best full breakfasts! I would highly recommend it!

06.14.09: traveled with my fiance and his family and we had an absolute blast. This Vacation Rental was so relaxing. Our room upstairs was very cozy and the bathroom was simply adorable. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and felt welcome to relax anywhere. The gardens in the front and back were beautiful-everything was blooming! and we got to meet Daisy the Donkey. I liked everything about the place. The new innkeepers were very helpful and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. They fed us superb breakfasts and were able to direct us around the town and on to the coast. I would absolutely stay here again. It felt like a home away from home. I just wish I had more vacation coming to me! :)

06.14.09: We stayed over the weekend at the Casa Carolina for my girlfriends birthday. The property was clean, rooms were well decorated with comfortable beds and plenty of extra towels. The setting is phenomenal! Just outside the artsy town of Sebastopol, the property is surrounded by an incredible garden and a farm-like setting including a donkey, chickens, sheep, and a couple of dogs. The hospitality was top notch, with breakfast that included produce and eggs from the property itself. There was also very friendly staff that while new to this particular property, had great knowledge of the local area. The place is 20 minutes from the Sonoma Coast, 30 minutes from 3 of the best Zinfandel appellations on earth, but if you decide not to leave the property for your entire stay you will be treated to beautiful sunrises and an away-from-it-all setting. Oh yeah, there's a hot tub too :-). We will be back..

06.09.08: From the beginning to end, Casa Carolina had all the charm that you wish for in a Vacation Rental. Caroline is a wonderful host and chef making breakfasts to remember. I will return many more times. I loved my stay.

06.03.08: Casa Carolina in Sebastopol is the best inn in the region! I haven't actually stayed there myself, but I hear nothing but good things about the place and the owner Carolyn Schroth.

05.22.08: My friend and I stayed 2 nights here and only have rave reviews. From the minute we arrived until we left, we felt the personal touch service from Carolyn, the owner. She wanted to make sure all our needs were met at all times. Her suggestions for dining, cycling, hiking and wine tasting were spot on. I instantly felt relaxed in her home. It is very peaceful and secluded (yet only a few minute drive to the center of Sebastopol). It was the perfect launching pad for proximity to some fabulous wineries and only a 20 minute drive to the coast. I will definitely stay there again if I go back to that wine region.
